Anna Mae's

Southern-roamers, backyard hangers, big pan cookers
KERB, 2012

Why we love them

The first time we heard about Anna Mae's was as part of one of Ms. Marmite Lover's Night Market's. They'd jacked it all in to road-trip across the States. That was enough for me - I wanted to know where all they'd been! They've dug into the back porch of the South and pulled up its essence. The wording, the motifs, the jaunty sense of place - and it feels like something fun. Definitely seek out their 'Cheezus Loves You' trailer trash facade - it's brilliant (even has Palmetto at it's 'porch', now that's some real South Carolina type of MMmm).

What they serve

London’s original pimped up mac n cheese
The Annie Mac – AMs original mac n cheese
The Kanye Western – Mac with hot dog, housemade BBQ sauce & fresh chives
The Don Macaroni – Mac with bacon and pesto & fresh basil
The Spicy Juan – mac with jalapenos, chipotle pepper, sour cream and coriander

Pulled Pork
The Notorious P.I.G - Pulled pork sandwich, housemade BBQ sauce and sweetheart and sesame slaw
The Mary J Beans – Pulled pork, sauce and slaw over spiked ranch beans

Texas Red Chilli
House recipe chilli served with beans, cheese, sour cream, lime & freshly baked jalapeno cornbread

Other Stuff
Brisket
Hushpuppies
Hot wings
Sloppy Joes
Frito Pies

In their own words

We’re about:
- Southern classics the London way; The Notorious P.I.G pulled pork sandwich or the Kanye Western Mac N Cheese anyone?
- original & best pimped up mac n cheese in London
- taking American food beyond the burger & fries experience
- having some fun with it

Why the kerb life

Because Anna hates the tube, Tony loves a list and we both want to be part of something extraordinary.

Fave Kerbster

Cristiano’s Heartbreaker burger is doin’ it for us – he’s goddam nailed it. Though Kimchi Cult’s Kimchi & Buen Provecho’s taste great on our mac n cheese!
