Become a Trader

Anyone wanting to get involved with KERB - including our market at King’s Cross – needs to go through the process
of becoming a member of KERB first.

Being a member of KERB offers loads of amazing benefits. What makes it so valuable is that we make big efforts to know and consider each trader before they join us. We need to be sure that every new KERBanist is going to fit in with the family. This is a carefully selected group of businesses that are all doing great things for this industry and membership of this group keeps the standards high and the opportunities growing.

If you would like to register your interest in joining us, please read carefully all of the below and then fill in the form at the bottom.

Please be aware that we are currently at capacity and that there is a very slim chance of being accepted onto the KERB right now - we store all applications though and will contact the really exceptional sign-ups if anything changes.

What Traders Say ABout Us

Why KERB? ...by our traders.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR TRADERS

Great trader - personality, attitude, imagination, feistiness, input, self-reliance, fun.

Great food - flavour, imagination, strength of offering, consistency, ethos (we want anyone eating at any of our stalls to walk away going ’damn!’ / ‘wow!’ / ‘hot!’ - not ‘blah’. Ever.

Great stall - exuberant, enticing, original, up-together, stable, well-thought out (i.e. not shanty, dangerous, scruffy, unhygienic looking, dull, risky, lazy, dirty).

Great practices - Good food ethos, good operations/systems for a high standard of trading, H&S conscious, environmental awareness and ‘leaving no trace’.

Great ambassador - Helping us to spread the word, helping other traders out, upholding the KERB reputation at any of our markets or events, striving for improvement and ‘Making Cities Taste Better’.

OUR PROCESS FOR SIGNING UP TRADERS IS:

1. Before we even start talking, we need to know that you have the basics of street trading:

- All relevant and up-to-date H&S docs

- Your own gazebo/van to trade from

- A place where you trade that we could arrange to come and see you in action

2. Meeting you

We need to come and meet you at your stall and try your food. Once we have read your application we will contact you. If we don’t feel you are suitable for KERB right now we will let you know, or if we’d like to know more we will send you some dates to choose from to arrange a visit from one of us.

If this goes well we will invite you in to KERB!

3. Signing up

We will send you our KERB Sign-Up pack (T&Cs, Trader Profile Sheet, Sourcing Questionnaire, H&S docs checklist, photos request).

Once we have received all of this information signed and in date we will send out an invoice for one year’s membership and start preparing your trader profile.

Once your profile is complete you can get stuck in and start enjoying the value that being part of KERB will bring to you and your business!

If this sounds like the place for you please follow the link below to our application form.

WE WON'T CONSIDER ANY APPLICATION THAT DOESN'T SHOW PROPERLY YOUR FOOD OR YOUR STALL.
