Pizza wagon on a mission
KERB, 2013

Why we love them

Two Wandsworth girls with incredibly glamourous Wandsworth mums decide to set up a pizza van and use it as a means to employ local Wandsworth kids who otherwise might not be given the opportunity. As soon as we heard about the Well Kneaded wagon we knew we had to have them. Bridget and Bryony work really hard at their pizza flavourings, but just as hard at creating changes on the streets - looking for ways to make themselves useful through their youth scheme, but also at bringing more flexibility to the often claggy London trading laws. We love them because they're troopers and because they make stuff happen.

What they serve

Firebread pizzas

Roasted garlic, tomato, basil

Fennel  (or beetroot) and rosary goats cheese

Chorizo, squash and chillies (when in season)

**Award winning firebread pie (folded like a calzone)**

Smoked ham, lanark blue, romanesco/field mushrooms

Sweet one: apple, golden syrup and cinnamon

Firebread Wrap

Slow roast shoulder of pork served with fennel slaw and/or 2 seasonal salads

In their own words

We employ young people from london council estates and we make really good wood fired firebread pizza's on delicious sourdough style bases and firebread wraps in an oven that pumps out 80 in an hour. We spend alot of time investing in our team and our menu and so the customer gets not only delicious seasonal, British combinations on their tastebuds but en engaging well kneaded team member to serve it up. What more could you want?

Why the kerb life

Great community, flexible, spontaneous, hard work, great rewards, brilliant to be among the people of London fuelling their days with great grub.

Fave Kerbster

The burger from Bleecker or the Heartbreaker burger from Tongue 'N Cheek perhaps…a nice darjeeling from Good and Proper...
