With growth comes exciting opportunities and we are looking for a hungry (literally) Payroll and Benefits Manager to join the Finance Team, be our payroll Guru, make sure we are always doing the best for our People, and support the People Team on our mission to be ‘World Class’.

THE ROLE

As part of the Finance team, the Payroll and Benefits Manager will be the subject matter expert for the KERB group, the go-to person for anything relating to Payroll, ensuring that all processes relating to payroll, benefits and pensions are robust and compliant with legislation.

You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the payroll process making sure you partner with the People Team to ensure you have the accurate information to effectively manage the payroll process and are up to date with any business changes relating to pay and benefits.

You must be experienced in administering the monthly and bi-weekly payroll and have the associated knowledge of HMRC reporting for a medium-sized business. Ideally, you would have strong experience in using G-Suite, Microsoft Suite,  and experience with outsourced payroll and HRIS platforms such as Harri. This role requires a flexible and proactive individual with the ability to use their initiative and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Main responsibilities and duties include:

    • Assisting with processing Bi-weekly and monthly payrolls across multiple entities
    • Liaising with our outsourced payroll providers to ensure they have all the data they need to process the payrolls accurately and on time
    • Assist the People Team in answering payroll holiday, pension and benefit-related queries
    • Updating any payroll changes such as salary increases, advance or deductions
    • Support with tax issues, P11D’S (checking/reconciliations etc.) and all HMRC employer-related filings.
    • Dealing with all new joiners and leavers from a payroll perspective process SSP, SMP, SPP and other deductions from wages as appropriate.
    • Must be able to do manual calculations when necessary
    • Assist the Finance and People Team in maintaining accurate data for our reporting
    • Support the People Team in conducting periodic reviews and benchmarking exercises to ensure we remain competitive
    • Manage payroll inbox and act as the first point of contact for employees and managers for any payroll or employment queries
    • Process transactions relating to salary sacrifice schemes and company benefits
    • Administration and management of company benefits including pensions, gym membership, company phones etc
    • Uphold a culture and environment where people want to work

SKILLS

    • 2 – 5 years experience of working in a similar role and ready to hit the ground running.
    • Experience of working with a rota’ing system and outsourcing payroll provider
    • If you’ve worked in hospitality – even better!
    • Solid understanding of HR practices and employment law
    • CIPP Level 5 Qualified or similar
    • Highly numerate
    • A highly organised individual with a keen eye for attention to detail
