WHAT: Events Manager
WHEN: To start as soon as possible
REPORTS TO: Hannah Searle, Senior Events Manager


This role will be integral to KERB’s events team. The role involves selling KERB catering to corporate and private clients and well as client and venue relationship management. There will also be a strong event management element to the role, seeing events through from the sales process through to on-site management and delivery on the day and aftercare.

Although highly reactive to external demand, they will also be instrumental in carrying out proactive business development activity to support the Head of Events achieve revenue targets. This multi-faceted role will include:


Sales and Business Development

  • Responding to event enquiries in an effective and timely fashion
  • Producing quotes and negotiating job scope and costs with clients
  • Up-selling the KERB service where appropriate
  • Client account management including effective follow-up to ensure clients are well engaged
  • Venue and client cultivation to include targeted communication and entertaining when necessary
  • Business development support to include client and venue research, business analysis and competitor analysis  
  • Marketing support when required to include the creation of newsletter, social media and website content as well as the creation of bespoke entertainment opportunities for venues and clients
  • Attendance at industry networking events

Event Management

  • Compiling job briefs and liaising with KERB’s food traders about potential jobs and collating responses to present to clients
  • Pre-event briefings for traders and clients
  • Health and safety documentation checks for traders working private events (and sharing with clients where necessary)
  • Liaising with traders, venues and clients pre-event on logistics including trader placement, access and power
  • Site visits with clients and/or traders where required
  • On-site management of events, to include supervising traders and acting as main POC for clients and venue contacts
  • Aftercare with client and trader, ascertaining aspects of the service that could be improved

Admin & System Maintenance

  • Maintenance of finance database and P&Ls
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with credit control when necessary
  • Maintaining database of information on traders including contact details, power requirements, standard menus, VRNs, links to H&S docs etc
  • Attending regular 1-1 and team meetings
  • Collating and managing the storing of useful client testimonials, logos and photos of traders and events

Additional general KERB responsibilities

  • Assisting in the identification and cultivation of new events-appropriate traders
  • Keeping ‘on the pulse’ by sampling trader’s food and occasionally working with traders at markets or events
  • Event management of KERB public events when necessary

This list is in no way exhaustive and the incumbent may be asked to perform other tasks to help out the KERB family (within reason!), including some unsociable hours

  • Willing and capable to quote and negotiate (within all work contexts)
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Ability to manage all aspects of a project and relationship management
  • Positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and willing to problem solve
  • Team player essential
  • Experience and knowledge of the field of event management and/or event catering is essentiaL
