WHAT IS THE INKERBATOR?

KERB members must first go through our inKERBator, a free eight-week programme designed to give early-stage businesses with raw talent but little experience the chance to accelerate their growth.

We recruit a fresh bath of inKERBators every quarter and support their development to full KERB standards by providing mentorship, access to our resources, a pitch at a KERB market and ongoing feedback (both one-to-one and via focus groups).

The inKERBator provides a space within which fledgling food businesses can experiment and learn on the job whilst giving Londoners a regular injection of new and exciting food to enjoy.

The inKERBator Programme

Over the eight weeks we create benchmarks for assessing progress and measuring success, the focus is on growth and identifying the most viable businesses. The inKERBator programme is centred around these four main components:

Mentorship

Resource

Yes! I have an original, unshakeable idea, big goals for it and a strong, strong aesthetic. I've already tested it, but want to come to KERB to pit it against some of London's best traders.

Yes, it's the only way I'm going to grow and I'll take it on the chin when it's doled out.

Big time.
I live to keep my customers well fed and happy.

It's all I think about. I know where my food comes from, how to make it pack a punch and how to keep it consistent. I know who my competition is can hold my own against it.

I’d be mad not to.
Industrial meat and plastic food packaging makes me wince.

I’d love to be in KERB but it's not the be all and end all of my business, I'm going to make it happen anyway.

Great. Now we’ve agreed on all that, please answer all the questions in the application form below and we will be in touch about next steps if your business sounds like a fit for the inKERBator.

Please note that we receive many applications every week and will only reply to those who stand out in vision, ambition and presentation. Bad photos and weak answers will be passed over – come back stronger if you don’t hear from us this time, we appreciate persistence!
