A purpose driven, not for profit business, that champions independent food businesses through incubation and acceleration and supports those that need it most into employment in hospitality.

Hospitality businesses are three times more likely to fail (a stat that is even higher post pandemic). KERB+ is a social enterprise tackling the barriers to entry and providing the support that is so vital to start up success. Providing opportunities for both businesses and individuals to get into the world of hospitality.

We focus on supporting referrals from our Impact Partners across four main areas:

  • youth unemployment
  • refugees
  • homelessness
  • through the gate services

COACHING

COACHING

We help food start ups to be a success! From those individuals with big ideas, to those entrepreneurs already trading but wanting to step things up a level. KERB Classroom is our online course that helps develop ideas into business plans.

For individuals, we have a work experience programme led by our Head of Coaching, Lisa, that will provide key skills across hospitality roles.

INCUBATING

INCUBATING

For businesses, via the InKERBator Programme, our free 8 week programme that involves face-to-face workshops and market trading before ‘graduating’ and becoming fully fledged KERB members. In 2022, there were 23 graduates from the inKERBator programme who are now out there slinging their dishes to hungry customers up and down the country.

For individuals, via an apprenticeship scheme across all areas of hospitality and event management with real job opportunities at the end.

ACCELERATING

ACCELERATING

For businesses, we have access to the full KERB Membership and all of the opportunities and benefits that brings. From access to the full community, to resources, discounts, workshops, time with the KERB team, residencies, and profitable event catering opportunities.

For individuals, there is the opportunity to access the KERB Work programme membership, the KERB community and resources, KERB mentoring opportunities and further career development opportunities including full time employment.

STREETS AHEAD

We have partnered with McCain to offer KERB Classroom for free to 100+ less-advantaged people with big dreams of starting their own food business. Through McCain’s sponsorship, we’re able to incubate more incredible food start-ups, not only online via the Classroom but by hosting Immersion Days at Seven Dials Market, one-to-one menu development sessions with our Food Team, and the opportunity to pitch for up to £10,000 of investment at the end.
