Our fourth batch of inKERBators are out of the classroom, and trading at KERB+ Cowcross Yards every Wednesday! Since we launched the inKERBator way back in 2013 (but officially in 2016), we keep thinking surely we can’t find any more talent, and yet the traders of London prove us wrong.
Introducing, eight new incredible street food traders, a.k.a. your new lunch cravings…
PHILLY PHILLY STEAK – American street food
Starting out as a chef in Istanbul, founder Ali’s love of food and service has taken him all over the world! Ali is Turkish, but his rich cultural background and passion for travel and international cuisine have enabled them to see beyond the confines of gastronomy and create a beautiful fusion of food and tradition.
Philly Philly Steak’s hero dish: The Philly cheesesteak sandwich (or wrap)
PAKO TACO – Tacos with a Pakistani twist
Founder Faisal has always loved cooking, calling it his “number one passion in life”. He left a marketing director role at the end of 2022 to finally pursue his dreams! His love for fusion cuisine brought him to an idea, merging Mexican and Pakistani/Indian food. Pako Taco was born!
Pako Taco’s hero dish: The birria beef laal mas taco
GOOD F’ING PIZZA – Gluten-free pizzas
Born in 2021, Good F’ing Pizza began as founder Dijon’s hobby but quickly turned into a passion. Having a gluten intolerance himself, he struggled to find any high-quality gluten-free pizza options in London, and so set out on a mission to deliver one himself. And boy has he delivered! Coeliacs rejoice!
Good F’ing Pizza’s hero dish: The classic pepperoni (GF, of course)
BISAN BITES – Palestinian inspired
Founder Eman’s journey began during the pandemic, when she started cooking for her elderly neighbours. A lack of experience held her back, so step forward Arnabeet’s founder, Mouna, mentored her through the world of market trading and introduced her to KERB! Beginning by selling falafel wraps at markets in her local area, Bisan Bites soon joined the Streets Ahead programme, before signing up for the inKERBator.
Bisan Bites hero dish: The chicken maqluba (rice, chicken, aubergine, wrapped)
AYAL – Turkmen manti dumplings
Having been invited to cook up healthy food for a local fitness club, Maral began experimenting with her recipes and preparing three-course feasts for friends and family. After researching how to start her own business, she found out about Migrateful, before joining TERN. We first met Maral there, at TERN’s Food Power programme, and quickly signed her up to Streets Ahead through which she won investment to set up her business. Having traded at KERB+ Gipsy Hill, Maral signed up to the inKERBator and is ready to take her business to the next level!
Ayal’s hero dish: Manti dumplings, any/all fillings
CHULO – Indo-Chinese dishes
Having worked in the food industry for 10+ years, Sulav was filled with dreams of starting his own business. With a love of connecting with people, and a mission to deliver his luscious flavours to the people of London – Chulo was born. Simple, creative, flavourful.
Chulo’s hero dish: Crispy chilli chicken with veg fried rice
FIKIR ETHIO KITCHEN – Ethiopian stews and more
Fikir Ethio Kitchen is a family affair, founded by two cousins who wanted to share their heritage, their food and their culinary traditions with London. “We’re passionate about bringing Ethiopian food to the street markets of London!” says co-founder, Samantha.
Fikir Ethio Kitchen’s hero dish: Zighini, a spicy Ethiopian stew
PAPA COFFEE – coffee and pastries
And for our final trader, something a lil bit different! Papa Coffee is joining the fold, bringing brilliant coffee (roasted by Assembly) and the fluffiest pastries (from Dusty Knuckle) to markets and events. Founders Myles and Alan love the hustle and bustle of busy trade and pride themselves on only serving up the highest quality coffee and pastries.
