This one’s been simmering since 2020. After countless classified chats over barley buns, various pints to ‘confirm things’ and far too many official excuses to pop in for a weekly roast… We’re buzzed to announce that, the team behind London’s greatest pub, The Marksman, are joining us at the National Theatre… say hey to Jon, John & Tom!
The lads will be transforming the National Theatre’s ‘House’ Restaurant into their freshest home, bringing seasonal pies, their infamous buns and a central oyster bar, to this iconic venue.
The name? Lasdun (paying homage to the building’s eminent architect Denys Lasdun).
“We are thrilled to be opening our new restaurant Lasdun in one of our favourite buildings and to be part of such a celebrated cultural institution as the National Theatre.” – John, Jon & Tom
Watch us transform this space and be the first to book a spot, over on @lasdunrestaurant or www.lasdunrestaurant.com – South Bank’s hottest new spot, opening its doors May 2023.
This is one of the final pieces in the culinary puzzle at the National Theatre, where we’ve been busy transforming the food and drink offering over the past year (both inside and out). Like whacking banging craft beer from Gipsy Hill and street food from Lucky’s, Bad Boy Pizza Soc. and Mumbai Mix on the menu at The Understudy, classic cocktails and more from East London Liquor Co. and Square Root Soda at the Theatre Bars, and HEJ Coffee and Nemi teas in the cafes.
If you haven’t popped by recently – get stepping.
