WELCOME TO THE STAGE…
The newest member of our National Theatre fam…SIRELI joins The Understudy.
Brought to you by long time pals Oliver + Mick, Sireli translates to ‘my love’ in Armenian. The lads know what’s up when it comes to Middle-Eastern food that’s incredibly easy to love.
🍴WHAT’S ON THE MENU AT THE UNDERSTUDY?
Mix n match plates like crispy, gooey salt cod fritters, ridiculously moreish halloumi fries, pillowy soft hummus and smoked aubergine.
Follow that up with lamb shoulder, fried chicken or falafel, in a fluffy flatbread wrap, with creamy muhammara, house pickles + zingy mint slaw.
WHO ARE THEY
Prior to Sireli, Oli set up his Oli Baba’s street food concept after travelling and eating his way around Israel, Jordan, Egypt & Palestine. He said ‘The idea of starting an Armenian food business at the National Theatre would make my late grandmother very proud.’
Working at various restaurants from Melbourne back to London, Mick said ‘I have built my understanding of cooking and food service based on 12 years culinary experience, learning processes and finding inspiration from chefs along the way.
‘The opportunity to present our take on Middle Eastern & Armenian food at such an iconic venue as the National Theatre is a privilege and a very proud moment in my culinary career.’
We’re buzzing to welcome the lads to The Understudy!
