KERB has been bringing delicious, diverse, independent food and drink to the streets of London since 2012 and we’ve joined forces with The National Theatre and Compass Group to take it inside one of the city’s most iconic cultural institutions.
Everything from the National Theatre’s riverside boozer The Understudy to the brand-new, brasserie-style restaurant at Lasdun (by the team behind the Marksman pub) will now be curated by our food and drink team! We’re bringing you some of our favourite independent drinks and some of London’s most exciting street food traders at KERB at The Understudy.
We’ve been re-working a number of different food and drink spaces throughout the National Theatre. For now, you can enjoy KERB at The Understudy, Atrium Cafe, Lasdun Restaurant and a series of theatre bars. Keep an eye out for details on our new restaurant opening at the Terrace Restaurant this summer…
FORZA WINE

We’re absolutely buzzing to *finally* share that we’re bringing Forza Wine to join us at the National Theatre.
From one rooftop to another, KERB are bringing Forza Wine into the Terrace at the National Theatre on the 7th September. With banging sunset views over the Thames, their tasty snack menu and a regularly changing cocktail menu (hello frozen peach margaritas), it’s a match made in heaven and the final piece of the culinary puzzle at the National Theatre.
Forza Wine will open year-round for you and your mates to enjoy a dreamy natural wine list, seasonal cocktail list and their ‘sort of Italian’ inspired snack menu. Pop up for a quick bite or relax into a long meal, there’s a ‘whole menu’ option which serves four of you generously. Get stuck into the firm favourite Cauliflower fritti, as well as mozzarella with figs and hazelnuts and pancetta potato cakes and pickled cabbage. Not forgetting their addictive signature soft serve. Cocktails will include classics, alongside a menu including Cherry Negroni, Limonata Bianca and our fave – Frozen Peach Margarita.
From midday to midnight Monday – Saturday.
Lasdun Restaurant

We’re buzzed to announce that we’ve brought the team behind London’s greatest pub, The Marksman, to join us at the National Theatre with a brand new concept – Lasdun Restaurant & Bar.
The Lasdun team have transformed the National Theatre’s ‘House’ Restaurant into their newest home, bringing seasonal pies, their infamous buns and a central oyster bar, to this iconic venue.
Featuring timeless brasserie style dishes, Lasdun’s menu is brought to life through a classic yet contemporary lens, featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and showcasing the very best produce Britain has to offer.
Taking inspiration from modernist design and the rich, diverse culinary history of London, the restaurant creates a world-class destination for Londoner’s to experience the very best of culinary and culture under one roof.
THE UNDERSTUDY

KERB at The Understudy is serving up London’s best independent drinks. Kick back with a cold pint from Gipsy Hill, a glass of wine from Le Caves, spirits from East London Liquor Company, or something softer from Square Root.
Bringing the flavour is: Bad Boy Pizza Society – launching their banging new concept for the National Theatre – BBPS Square with fluffy yet crispy slices of squared Sicilian-style pizza (Pepperoni Alla Vodka, Margherita and Cacio E Pepe). Mumbai Mix are taking Indian street food to the next level, with vegan and vegetarian dishes, including Thali (meaning ‘the plate’ in Hindi language), a variety of dishes served together on a traditional platter, as well as mouth-watering Mumbai toasties.
Meltdown Cheeseburgers, our newest trader to the lineup, will be slinging out their range of juicy, oozy burgers, (choose from double smashed beef patty, spiced chicken thigh or vegan patty) – plus rotating weekly specials and loaded beef brisket fries.

ATRIUM CAFE

Open all day, Atrium Cafe moves from coffee and pastries in the morning to cheese and charcuterie after 4pm. In here it’s all about championing local suppliers – most of them Londoners. Like Hej down the road in Elephant & Castle, Galeta in Hackney, and Islington-based Cobble Lane.
For lunch, you’ll find sandwiches, salads and tarts, as well as some smaller snacky-bits. And those looking for a lunchtime loosener, we’ve got beers, wines and spirits from our favourite independent drink makers.
Monday to Saturday, from 10am.
THEATRE BARS

Plus six theatre bars serving the very best independent beers, wines and spirits!
