Announcing the Success of the Streets Ahead Programme

Last year we launched the Coaching for Business programme, Streets Ahead with McCain Foodservice Solutions.

When it comes to food service McCain is a big fry and it made perfect sense to partner up for maximum impact on the KERB. Over the past 18 months, we’ve been working tirelessly alongside McCain to provide a platform for aspiring chefs from all walks of life to turn their dreams into reality through the Streets Ahead programme. Now in its second year, the programme has grown more impactful than ever as a new batch pitches for funding.

SEVEN NEW BUSINESSES HEAD TO THE KERB:

After months of hard work and dedication, we’re proud to announce that seven more talented individuals have emerged as winners from the latest investment round. These amazing entrepreneurs wowed us with their innovative food concepts and mouthwatering dishes, earning a total investment of £46,000 from McCain FS.

INNOVATIVE CONCEPTS AND DELICIOUS DISHES:

Among the winning concepts are vegetarian Nigerian dishes and homestyle Bengali cuisine. Gourmet mac ‘n’ cheese and authentic Iranian charcoal-smoked eats are also on the menu. Our winners are bringing a diverse range of flavours to the table, showcasing the rich tapestry of culinary traditions from around the world.

EMPOWERING CULINARY DREAMS:

Last year, we supported twelve referrals from our incredible impact partners as they chopped, fried and finessed their hero dishes. The KERB+ coaching team were on hand to help as the participants all prepped to pitch for a chance to win a share of £100K of funding to kick-start their businesses.

ACCELERATING STREET FOOD BUSINESS

From last years winner, four business have worked their way through the KERB ecosystem. Now, fully fledged members, you can find Bisan Bites, Utopia, Samarkand Palav and Ayal on the KERB at our central London Lunch markets.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Keep your eyes peeled because the second panel day of the year is this summer, and there will be a chance to eat like you give a damn as we launch each of this year’s winners at a one-of-a-kind market.
